Sliding Doors Jaws

So, last night I visited A&E at 3 in the morning.

I managed to dislocate my jaw in bed(no, get your mind's out of the gutter.).

I had no clue how I did it, but it was fucked.
Anyway, on the drive to the hospital I managed to click it back into place.
The nurses at reception told me that it didn't matter and was best to check me over anyway, to be on the safe side and that.

A forty minute wait later, a doctor took one look at me and said "What are you doing here at this time in the morning, you're fine, go home."

So, I got home and although my jaw was back in place, it still hurt like hell.

Fast forward six hours and I'm in agony.
My cheeks are all swollen up.
It's hard to talk, hard to breathe, hard to swallow, and I can't close my mouth properly.

So, I book a trip to the dental hospital to see if they'll treat me any better there.

After a fifty minute wait, a dentist looks at me for two minutes, and tells me both of my wisdom teeth are coming through at the same time(which is rare, apparantly), that these popped my jaw out, and that my left gum is diseased.
Not bad for one nights work, eh?
So, after that two minute examination I get charged £10.64.
Then I get charged £6.40 for antibiotics.
Antibiotics which I have to take with water for a month, and can't drink alcohol with.
If these don't work I have to have my wisdom teeth removed.

So, I'm on cup-a-soup, mashed banana and milk for the next four weeks. Or more.

Which is gonna fuck my degree right up.

Heh

More work in progress

Greatly reduced in size and quality for ease of streaming.

The movement's not right yet, and I need to add some sound, but it's a start.

24 Hour Comic Day

So, yesterday 24/04/2004, was this years 24 Hour Comic Day, and between working on my animation, Mike and I set about to try and create something, not for sending in, but just for the sake of doing it.

Mike outlined the story and I painted scenes in between renders, hence the little teaser images posted below.

Thw whole process from start to finish, including transcripts of working all the bullshit out have been blogged on Mike's site.
Just do a search for April 24th and kinda go from earliest to latest to get the full days musings.

We didn't get to letter the comic, which sort of means we didn't accomplish the full task, but it came down to lack of technology rather than running out of time.

So, I present to you Remainders.

Spammers... you've gotta love 'em...

It's not everyday you get mail from "Squirting Beavers."

Oh no, wait a minute.... yes it is.

A few more images.

Soon, I'll let you in on the secrecy ;)

Shane.

I'm currenly watching the repeat of the first episode of Frank Skinner's new sitcom Shane.

I saw it earlier in the week when it was first on but didn't get round to mentioning it.

I really enjoyed it.
It's typically English as you'd expect from the man.
Some of the stuff was a bit dodgy and predictable, but overall I was impressed.

A little hint of something, maybe...

Y'know what the worst thing about living in a loft is?

It's not the fact that in the Summer it's the hottest place in the house.
It's not the fact that in the Winter it's the coldest place in the house.

It's the fact that everytime someone cooks I can smell the aroma wafting upwards making me fucking hungry.

Fight The Power!

I managed to get a £7 refund from Amazon the other day.
For 'shipping' a faulty item back to them.
A 'shipping' that was to a freepost address.

Advantage Phil.

The start of something to come. Maybe. Perhaps. Hopefully.

Because Mike does it better than me

Fixing Test Scores To Get The Best Scores...

Things at uni are going alright at the moment, I reckon I'm pretty much on schedule with most things, so hopefully now I should have some bits to show people, as soon as they've been reduced and compressed enough.

Happy St Georges Day!

If you're English, or even if you're not, raise a pint of Carling to me while I'm at home tonight animating my arse off.

Not literally my arse, but you get what I mean...

If anyone wants to send me the msn messenger installation file, it'd be most appreciated.
For some reason it's beyond tits up on mine, and the download won't do fuck all for me.

Ok, I'm definitely working too hard.

I've just spent between a minute and two minutes looking for a pencil I'd put down somewhere a minute previously.

No big deal there, sounds normal, I can be a forgetful twat sometimes.

Untill I realise I'm holding the pencil in my mouth.

I kid thee not.

Moblg

I've just signed up for moblg.net, a site for mobile cameraphone blogging.

If you're out and about and nowhere near a pc, and you take a picture on your phone that you want to show to the world immediately(or just before you forget, which is whats most likely to happen to me) then you can e-mail it to your account and it'll blog it for you.

I'm not too sure where I'm going to place the images on the site yet, as of now I've got the latest image appearing near the bottom of the right hand column.

As of now, it's currently;

I dunno if I'll use it much, or in fact if I'll actually ever use it again, but hey, it's there for me to play with.

MP3 users who shuffle songs are 'brain damaged'

http://www.wired.com/news/culture/0,1284,63068,00.html

James Kellaris, a professor of marketing at the University of Cincinnati and author of a study about tunes that stick in your head, said the appeal of random shuffle is likely generational.

Kellaris said random shuffle likely appeals to the MTV generation -- kids with short attention spans who are likely "brain damaged."

"Personally, and I believe I speak for many old farts here, I appreciate listening to music, be it an opera or a pop album, in the sequence in which the artist decided to present it," he said.

"Temporal order is an important element of how a work unfolds dynamically over time, an important factor underlying the aesthetic effect. Random shuffle pretty much flushes that down the toilet."

Because John's a whiny slag...

...and bitched at me for not wishing him a Happy Birthday even though I wasn't here at the time;

Happy Birthday you old tart.

Here, have a present:

Shaun Of The Dead

I really cannot reccommend this film enough, it is absolutely hilarious and definitely what the British film industry needs.
Both a decent zombie film in it's own rights and a brilliant intelligent comedy, this film needs to be seen by people, all over the world.
It's not cliquey English humour that foreigners won't understand, and it doesn't just resort to easy gags.

There are some great musical moments throughout the film, using Queen's Don't Stop Me Now, cult references abound, and much like Love Actually features cameos from a lot of Britains current crop of actors.

So wrong, it must be right.

Cheers to Sam for chucking it my way, and giving me a damn good laugh.

Bonkers 12

New from React comes Bonkers 12; Mission Hardcore

Bonkers founders Hixxy & Sharkey team up for the twelve installment in the series along with resident Scott Brown, and as a special bonus a fourth disc mixed by Breeze & Styles, all for the same low price.

Original Bonkers innovator Hixxy gets things started with the kind of rip-roaring mix that has made him a fans favourite over the years, while Sharkey showcases some of the freshest new production talent from around the globe, forthcoming material from the Nu Energy label collective, and a special guest appearance from KLF vocalist Bello B.
Scott Brown turns up the heat in a blistering mix of UK hardcore fused with Dutch nu-skool gabba, leaving Breeze & Styles to wrap things up in a roof-raising back 2 back DJ mix that features chart toppers Ultrabeat under their Clear Vu guise and anthems from the Nukleuz, Raverbaby and All Around The World labels.

I almost forgot I'd seen this last week...

Any Americans reading this will probably be questioning the point of this post, but despite the fact that it came out Nov 21st over there it only arrived here April 2nd.

If you haven't seen the film then have a look at the trailer.

That's all the review I'm going to give this film.
Cos that's all you need to watch to get the ending.
And this way you can watch it for free.

Go Go Power Derangers!

A BOY of seven bid £750,000 for a Power Rangers toy on an internet auction site. Joseph Adams used mum Susan’s eBay password to snap up the Wild Force Deluxe Kongazord model, which retails at £37.99. And his offer was ACCEPTED by the seller. Susan, 42, said last night: “My jaw hit the floor. I was in a blind panic thinking how we were going to raise the cash.”She and hubby Colin, 44, even feared they would have to sell their house to pay for a toy. Luckily, when they explained everything to the seller he axed the deal — and finally sold it to another fan for £61.03. Susan, of Biggin Hill, Kent, added: “I gave Joseph a serious ticking off. The seller told me he had been looking forward to paying off his mortgage.”

April Fool, a day early.

So, today's April first and it's gone twelve noon so it's safe to chat about shit.

Yesterday however, I almost flooded the university basement.
I turned a tap, and a few seconds later it jumped into the air water spurting left, right and center from the pipe's now tapless hole.
Which resulted in me having to stand there holding it for a while untill the stopcock could be reached and the water turned off.

And then there was the football...

Yeah, I'll be leaving it there.

I'm a fucking acid junkie!!!!!!

I'm currently listening to Josh Wink's new album 20to20, and... wow... words cannot describe how good this cd is.
Some seriously deliciously dirty acid lines that really need to be cranked up loud and played on a surround sound system.

This cd has easily gone straight in to my top cd's list, and pretty damn high too.

This is my Boomstick!!!!

Listen, Repeat, Understand

Yup, it's a new month so I've yo-yo-ed my way back here. For the last fortnights posts head down to here.

If the same thing happens again in a fortnights time, I'll be back there again.
